This space is dedicated to rethinking how we teach research — with AI as a strategic partner, not a shortcut.

As part of my work in POL 409: Colloquium for Research in Government and Politics, I’ve developed a series of assignments, prompts, and frameworks that integrate AI into every stage of the research process: from refining a research question and hypothesis, to building a literature review, to designing the methodology behind a case study.

The resources here are open-access, adaptable, and grounded in academic integrity. They’re built to help students think more critically, write more clearly, and research with more purpose. One of my students even went on to publish their final POL 409 paper — a testament to the power of structure, feedback, and smart use of emerging tools.

Whether you’re a professor looking to bring AI into your classroom or a student navigating your own research journey, I hope what you find here is useful, replicable, and forward-thinking.

Let’s raise the bar — not lower it.
